Cloud System Engineer – Contract role

Stelfox is looking for a Cloud System Engineer to join one of our client's dynamic teams to work on a number of automation projects.

Dublin City Centre Office

12-months initial contract term, rolling / long-term contract

Competitive daily rate

Primarily Remote, Ad-hoc on-site in the office

Role

You will be responsible for designing and implementing workflows that integrate multiple services to create fully automated self-service solutions. As a team member, you will focus on modernization and automation related to containerization and both public cloud and on-premises infrastructure technologies. Your responsibilities will include building, automating, and supporting application and infrastructure deployment services.

You will also identify and implement process improvements and improve documentation. Additionally, you will develop and document operations and run playbooks. You will take ownership of your projects from definition to deployment and ensure the quality of everything you deliver.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with tools and technologies for developing infrastructure as code (IaC), such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Azure Resource Manager, AWS CloudFormation, and GCP Cloud Deployment Manager etc.
  • Experience integrating continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) technologies, such as GitHub, GitLab, and Jenkins
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and container-related technologies
  • Experience in system administration for operating systems (Linux, Windows) and middleware (web servers, application servers, databases, etc.)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, including Bash, Python, Go, and PowerShell
  • Experience with at least one major public cloud provider
  • Knowledge of on-premises infrastructure is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite Tools, Atlassian Confluence, and JIRA
  • Relevant certifications in cloud computing or other technical areas

  • Ability and eagerness to collaborate with diverse teams globally, with flexibility in work hours to accommodate different time zones
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and facilitate discussions that lead to a unified direction
