Job description

Job Title: Developer Support Engineer

Location: Dublin

My client who are working on a data -driven analytics platform for the finance industry is looking for a Developer Support Engineer to join their team. This role serves as a critical link between the engineering team and the data integration team. The primary responsibility is to oversee the implementation and integration of their platform and data models into the client environment. This includes comprehensive testing and quality assurance (QA) to validate data and ensure all product features are functioning smoothly. The objective is to maintain seamless workflow processes during and after integration.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Possess relevant experience in a comparable role, preferably within quantitative finance.
  • Thrive in a small, dynamic team environment, understanding both team and client needs.
  • Create, refine, and manage internal tools for automated testing on complex datasets.
  • Implement and maintain robust testing and validation protocols.
  • Integrate testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines effectively.
  • Provide second-tier technical support to users.
  • Adhere to best practices in software development, including maintaining high coding standards, automated testing, thorough documentation, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with the team, with opportunities to expand knowledge in modern development technologies such as Node.js, Terraform, AWS, Docker, and React.

 

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Experience in quantitative and data-intensive environments.
  • Proficiency in full-stack development for SaaS applications.
  • Strong background in JavaScript and Node.js.
  • Proficient in SQL.
  • General understanding of web services.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
  • Skilled in Git version control.
  • A minimum of three years of professional programming experience.
  • Strong academic knowledge of computer science, Bachelor’s Degree level required. Degree in Computer Science / Engineering preferred.
