Java Engineer – Remote

Stelfox has partnered with a world-leading eCommerce Analytics platform company that delivers accurate and actionable sales-driven data insights to global brands and retailers such as L’Oréal, Nestlé, and Adidas.

 The Dir. Of Engineering is now actively looking to hire a Senior Back-End Java Engineer to join one of their globally distributed, cross-functional agile engineering team.

Our client has offices located throughout Europe and has recently moved to a “remote-first” working environment so is happy to offer fully remote work to the successful candidate based anywhere in Ireland.

Here the Engineer will work as part of a dedicated scrum team to develop and implement critical data-driven product features and innovative technical solutions to meet customer needs.

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborate with your team members to design and implement complex features
• Write clean, robust, extensible, and maintainable code
• Drive performance optimization through code profiling
• Take the initiative to resolve development issues and drive projects towards completion
• Research and champion new innovative open-source technologies and frameworks
• Good team resource for other engineers and can help explain designs and implementations 

What you need:

• BSc. or MSc. in Computer Science or Software Engineering (preferred)
• 3-5 years of commercial experience in commercial software development
• Highly proficient in Java 
• Knowledge of Spring frameworks (Spring Batch, Spring Boot)
• Experience with build tools (Gradle, Maven)
• Experience with Relational DBs (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with distributed version control systems (Git)
• Experience working with APIs and batch data processing applications 
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Exposure to AWS preferable
• Exposure to Docker is preferable
• Fluent English
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
