Linux Engineer with MySQL & AWS/GCP

Established in 2012, this online fashion retailer is valued at over $100 Billion, employs 10,000+ staff globally, and conducts business with 3,000+ suppliers.

The company is hiring 2 new additional resources to join their globally distributed production database engineering function providing 24×7 mission-critical support.

Here the Engineers will join an established team with colleagues across the U.S., Singapore, and China to form a “Follow the Sun” support model, managing its entire production database engineering landscape.

What you’ll be doing…

• Maintaining scalable, reliable, and robust production database environments
• Administer and manage MySQL databases on AWS or GCP cloud platforms
• Maintaining Linux operating systems and servers
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues related to Linux and MySQL
• Work with development teams and engineers to provide a database design guidance
• Develop and maintain scripts for the automation of repetitive tasks
• Triage and solve database issues, drive incidents until resolution
• Provide on-call support for critical issues

What you need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent technical discipline
• 3+ years of relevant commercial experience
• Strong knowledge of MySQL database administration, including backup and recovery, performance tuning, and replication
• Experience with Linux administration
• Strong scripting experience – Shell/Perl/Python, etc.),
• Experience with AWS or GCP cloud platforms and their associated services
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a geographically remote team
