Senior C#.NET Core Developer – Global Insurance Provider

Stelfox has exclusively partnered with a global Insurance Company that is entering the Irish marketplace in early 2023.

Our multinational client are leaders in the short-term insurance market offering car and home insurance directly to consumers. They also cater for the unique business insurance needs of all types and sizes of businesses and in 2010 they expanded into the life insurance market by offering comprehensive death, disability and critical illness cover as a fully-fledged life insurer too.

The company currently operates across South Africa, Australia & New Zealand, employing over 6000 staff, including 350 in IT/Technology.

The Group CTO is in the process of establishing an Innovation Hub (South Dublin location) and is now actively hiring for a Senior C#.NET Core Developer.

This is a unique opportunity to join the founding team of an international insurer building out core internal systems and working on new greenfield solutions using modern .Net Core (C#), Azure backend services, Angular/Typescript frontend, and Microservices approach.

Work location: 100% remote-based until early 2023. The Technical Leadership team will be relocating to Dublin & working from a new office in Cherrywood, South Dublin in Jan/ Feb 2023. Going forward, a hybrid working model will be in place – min. 3 days working from their South Dublin office. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Write understandable, testable code (with proven coverage) with an eye toward maintainability
• Help perform code reviews on all pull requests
• Actively invest time in learning better processes, practices, and techniques
• Adhere to statistical code analysis recommendations
• Challenge yourself to keep growing as a developer and document / share your learnings
• Unit and functional test your code before you create a pull request
• Work according to guides and best practices of the team and .Net practice
• Have a working understanding of all technologies used within your team

What you need:

• Third-level Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent course/level of experience
• Minimum 4 years+ commercial experience in .Net/C#
• Deep experience with .Net Core (C#)
• Familiarity/comfortable working with messaging-based distributed systems
• Solid understanding of Software Design
• Good experience with some of the following technologies – Angular / AngularJS, TypeScript, Cosmos DB, Azure Service Bus, NService Bus, Azure, Docker / AKS
• Bonus points for Insurance domain experience
