Our multinational client is a leader in the short-term insurance market offering car and home insurance directly to consumers. They also cater for the unique business insurance needs of all types and sizes of businesses and in 2010 they expanded into the life insurance market by offering comprehensive death, disability and critical illness cover as a fully-fledged life insurer too.

The company currently operates across South Africa, Australia & New Zealand, employing over 6000 staff, including 350 in IT/Technology.

The Group CTO is in the process of establishing an Innovation Hub (South Dublin location) and is now actively hiring for a Senior Frontend Developer.

This is a unique opportunity to join the founding team of an international insurer building out core internal systems and working on new greenfield solutions using modern .Net Core (C#), Azure backend services, Angular/Typescript frontend, and Microservices approach.

Office location: 4 days each week based at a new office in South Dublin.

What you’ll be doing:

• You write understandable, testable code (with proven coverage) with an eye towards maintainability.
• Help perform code reviews on all pull requests.
• Actively invest time in learning better process, practices, and techniques for the benefit of your career
• Challenge yourself to keep growing as a developer and document / share your learnings.
• Unit and functional test your code before you create a pull request.
• Work according to guides and best practices of the team and .Net practice.
• Have a working understanding on all technologies used within your team.

What you need:

• Third level Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent course/level of experience.
• Minimum 4 years+ commercial experience in modern Angular framework
• Deep experience with Angular (13/14 but other versions acceptable).
• Excellent HTML/CSS/SASS skills
• Strong Typescript skills
• Ideally experience with .Net Core (C#)
• Ability to apply industry best practices for application architectures & standards.
• Ability to give input into innovative solutions.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Self-motivated and a self-starter
• Ability to work in a team environment.
