Senior Software Engineer – Java/ Spring/ Cloud

To date, Stelfox has successfully supported the business in hiring 60+ technical resources across software engineering, QA, data analytics, data engineering, and Machine Learning.

Their new Limerick-based offices are now their main European HQ for R&D and greenfield initiatives.

Hybrid Work Model:

• 1 day a month in the office (Limerick)
• 2 days a quarter for company catch-ups etc.
• Visit the office for initial induction and training

The company is urgently hiring for a Senior Software Engineer to join a new scrum team responsible for developing next-generation pharmacy solutions using cutting-edge technologies.

Here the Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of end-to-end applications, system development, and maintenance on complex multi-technology platforms.

What you’ll be doing…

• Develop and define application scope and objectives and prepare technical and/or functional specifications from which programs will be written.
• Write correct and clean code with limited guidance
• Perform technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Maintain active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and leads requirements gathering meetings.
• Own the change request process and may coordinate with other teams as necessary.
• Provide technical advice and weighs in on technical decisions that impact cross-functional teams.
• Propose new technologies.
• Develop and own a list of final enhancements.
• Assess status and support data information planning.
• Coordinate on-call support and ensure effective monitoring of system.
• Maintain technical development environment. Mentor others and may lead multiple or small to medium-sized projects.
• Will begin to set direction at the project/service level and influence decision-making. Provides technical guidance, and mentoring.
• Facilitate group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews, and troubleshooting issues.
• Support vendor evaluation.

What you need:

• BSc. / MSc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience
• Proven experience in designing and building complex business applications
• Excellent knowledge of Java, Spring Frameworks, Database (SQL/NoSQL), CI/CD tools, Cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Ability to mentor others, lead multiple small projects and provide troubleshooting support.
• Machine Learning / AI expertise is an advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
