Senior Technical Cloud Architect (AWS) - Contract Role
Dublin | Hybrid (3 days onsite, non-negotiable)
6-month rolling contract | Competitive day rate
Stelfox is hiring a Senior Technical Cloud Architect (AWS) to lead large-scale cloud migration and platform modernisation initiatives within a regulatory reporting environment for a Dublin-based client.
Please note - Candidates must have banking experience, AXIOM and Cloud Migration experience to be considered for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Define cloud architecture standards and governance
- Design scalable, secure solutions for regulatory reporting
- Lead AWS-based cloud migration strategies (SaaS / multi-tenant)
- Ensure alignment with regulatory, security, and data governance frameworks
- Drive performance, scalability, and cost optimisation
- Promote IaC and automation best practices
- Design data architecture ensuring lineage, auditability, and compliance
- Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with data residency and security standards
- Support governance, roadmap alignment, and delivery oversight
Experience & Skills
- Proven track record in large-scale cloud migrations (AWS) within financial services
- Strong cloud architecture and cloud-native / SaaS platform experience
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting systems (AXIOM desirable)
- Solid understanding of data architecture and governance
- Experience in Agile / hybrid delivery environments
- Strong technical leadership and decision-making ability
- Excellent stakeholder management across global teams
- Clear, concise communication (technical & business)
- High ownership, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work across global, multi-timezone environments
