Senior Backend Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in the architecture and development of the back-end services for our Data Driven Analytics platform utilised in financial services sector. Your role will involve leading development initiatives in TypeScript/Node.js, refining and enhancing data models to tackle intricate business scenarios. You will also be responsible for implementing AWS infrastructure as code, maintaining high coding standards, automating tests, and ensuring comprehensive documentation. Collaborating closely with diverse teams to understand and fulfill both internal and client requirements, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Experience building backend systems with any of the following strongly typed / FP languages such as Java, Kotlin, C#, Scala, Typescript
- Open to design back-end services using TypeScript for a financial analytics platform.
- Enhance data models to address complex business requirements.
- Offer technical leadership/mentorship to junior developers.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align with the needs of internal teams and clients.
- Engage in full-stack development, with a strong emphasis on back-end tasks.
Requirements:
- At least 7 years of professional experience focusing on core back-end development.
- Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining server-side components of web applications.
- Extensive experience with deploying and managing cloud-based applications.
- In-depth knowledge of one of the following: Java, Scala, Kotlin, C#
- In-depth knowledge of JavaScript/ES6+ and TypeScript.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and Linux environments.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency with SQL databases.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, with a preference for degrees in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and capability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
