Technical Support Engineer

Cork City- Hybrid

My client is on the lookout for a Technical Support Engineer to join their company, you will play a central role in customer interactions and overall customer satisfaction. You will deliver top-tier technical assistance and guarantee customer contentment. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and responsibility in resolving customer concerns. They will be empowered to make decisions in the best interest of the customer and advocate for them within a collaborative team environment. The right fit for this role may not necessarily be the most seasoned, but rather someone with a passion for learning, a positive demeanor, and a steadfast focus on customer needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Promptly respond to customer support requests within specified guidelines and SLAs.
  • Resolve product-related issues through thorough troubleshooting or escalation.
  • Document knowledge through KB articles and case notes.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects aimed at enhancing team effectiveness.
  • Provide technical mentorship and coaching to junior team members.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams to provide feedback for product enhancements.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional Customer Service skills.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on Linux administration experience.
  • At least 3 years of industry experience in System Administration or Technical Support.
  • Strong networking skills with experience troubleshooting TCP/IP, VPN, etc., and familiarity with tools like Wireshark.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting MS Office products.
  • Basic understanding of SQL, capable of writing and interpreting basic queries.
  • Familiarity with orchestration and Kubernetes.
  • Broad knowledge of various cloud technologies such as Google Drive, Box, OneDrive, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Postgres and Elastic Search.
  • Experience with storage platforms like NetApp, EMC, etc.
  • Understanding or interest in Machine Learning, NLP, or Text Vectorization.
  • Scripting experience
