Software Engineer - Quantitative / Financial Engineering.

Grade - Mid & Senior level

Location - Hybrid in either Dublin or Cork.

Stelfox is partnering with a Fintech / SaaS Risk Analytics platform provider who are looking to add a number of Quantitative / Financial Software Engineers to their team in Q1/early 2026 as part of their ongoing expansion due to the demand for their SaaS platform/product.

Core responsibilities:

  • Implementing software models and applications to perform quantitative analysis of finance transactions
  • Implementing infrastructure connecting quantitative models up to a live web-based analytics platform.
  • Follow best practices of software development including automated testing, documentation, high coding standards, code-reviews, etc.
  • Work closely with other senior quant engineers as well as senior software engineers, allowing you to further develop your expertise in modern software development combined with your Quant modeling and engineering skills.

What you likely will have leading into the role:

  • Degree / Masters or PhD in Computational finance, Mathematics, Quantitative finance, Computer science, Physics or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical capability
  • Experience working on complex software applications incorporating data modeling & analytics.
  • Expertise in OO programming & OO design, preferably with coding languages such as Javascript, Typescript, Node.js, C++ or Python
  • Ideally 3 years professional programming experience
  • Experience in Linux/Unix/OS X environment
  • Interest in becoming expert in financial modeling with application development experience.

Bonus experience in areas like:

  • Building software for analysis of financial products: modeling financial instruments, cashflows, pricing, risk metrics, bond math, OAS and other fixed income analysis.
  • Experience building and optimizing Monte Carlo simulations
  • Experience with Python, in particular with libraries such as pandas, numpy, scipy and statsmodels.
  • Experience with data visualization.
  • Exposure to cloud-native architecture (AWS, GCP etc).
