Senior Software Engineer

Location: Cork

 

My client in the fintech sector is expanding their Cork team and are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to help extend their platform's features and capabilities as they continue to evolve their embedded finance solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment and make a real impact in the Fintech space.

 

What you'll do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using JavaScript, React.js, and Node.js
  • Build and enhance web services using serverless architecture and Express in an AWS environment
  • Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles to ensure robust, high-quality code
  • Work within a Kanban methodology, focusing on speed and efficiency
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using a DevOps model for continuous integration, build, and deployment
  • Collaborate on 3rd-party API integrations, databases (DynamoDB, MySQL), and various scripting tools
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering growth within the team

 

What they are looking for:

  • 5+ years' experience as a software engineer in a product development environment
  • Strong experience in full-stack JavaScript development
  • Proficiency with Node.js / Express.js and React frameworks
  • Experience with AWS Serverless architecture (preferred)
  • Solid understanding of APIs (REST / GraphQL)
  • Familiarity with TDD and tools like JIRA and Confluence
  • A collaborative, open-minded attitude and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
