Senior Python Developer – Contracting Position

Stelfox is looking for a Senior Python Developer to join our client based in Dublin, Ireland.

6-month initial contract term, rolling / long-term contract

Competitive daily rate

3 days on-site and 2 days remote each week

Role:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Python Developer with a combination of technical expertise and banking domain experience. This role will focus on both algorithm development and the creation of a strategic risk framework, contributing to the build-out of the next-generation Risk Platform for Emerging Markets.

Technical & Domain Expertise

• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Python Developer is required, and exposure to the banking sector is a significant advantage
• Advanced proficiency in Python, including libraries such as NumPy and SciPy.
• Prior experience in Market Risk or Trader Risk development is highly advantageous.
• A solid understanding of Rates and fixed-income products is desirable.
• Familiarity with Market Data Feeds and consumption technologies (e.g., Reuters, Bloomberg).
• Knowledge of Yield Curves and their construction methodologies.
• Strong grasp of software engineering principles, including design patterns and best practices.

• Eagerness to contribute to a high-profile project in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
• Comfortable engaging with senior business stakeholders and sponsors.

• Proactive in taking ownership and resolving complex tasks from high-level requirements.

• Demonstrates awareness of the operational aspects of managing and maintaining a software stack.
